# Trials and reviews

> Reading list | GLP-1 Life Coach — The GLP-1 Life Coach reading list gathers the semaglutide trials and reviews cited across the weight, appetite, tolerability and health cards.

**The reading list**

The weight studies started the conversation. The cardiovascular, kidney and symptom outcomes gave me more reasons to stay with it.

## Weight and duration

[STEP 1](https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/33567185/) supplies the weight comparison at 68 weeks. [STEP 5](https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/36216945/) extends the weight-management question to 104 weeks. The [weight card](/weight-over-time) is my starting place for the question of duration.

## Appetite and safety

The [rodent neural-pathway study](https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/32213703/), [mechanistic review](https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/39728000/) and [alcohol-use trial](https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/39937469/) approach appetite and consumption from different directions. The [semaglutide safety review](https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/34305810/) and [SUSTAIN-6](https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/27633186/) anchor the tolerability discussion.

## Clinical events and symptoms

[SELECT](https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/37952131/), [FLOW](https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/38785209/) and [STEP-HFpEF](https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/37622681/) address cardiovascular events, kidney-disease events, and heart-failure symptoms and limitations in their respective populations. The [health card](/health-outcomes) is where those findings get room to develop.
